Red Screes and the Scandale Valley

A high level walk from Ambleside, the route passes High Sweden Bridge then follows Scandale Beck on good paths to reach Scandale pass which leads to Patterdale. From there a moderately steep ascent takes us to the summit of Red Screes. A gradual descent with good views of the southern Lake District’s lakes and fells returns us to Ambleside.
