Borrowdale Valley CircuitThe area for this guided walk was described by Wainwright as "the loveliest square mile in Lakeland". Set in the 'Jaws of Borrowdale' is Castle Crag, only 300m. high but has splendid views of Derwentwater and Skiddaw. From there the route follows the River Derwent to Grange then, to Watendlath and Dock Tarn. Not the longest or highest walk in the programme but perhaps the most picturesque.
