A weekend of guided walking in the Snowdonia National ParkOverview: The Snowdonia National Park provides spectacular scenery and challenging terrain, a perfect location for a guided walking weekend. The weekend includes 2 nights accommodation in a Youth Hostel. Transportation to/from and during the weekend is not included, nor is food. The guided walking can also be booked without the Youth Hostel accommodation. This will leave you free to arrange your own accommodation or travel daily, if you are fortunate to live near enough, the price of the holiday will be adjusted accordingly. It is planned to do two full days of strenuous mountain walking. Therefore, to fully enjoy the weekend you will need to be physically fit and have had previous experience of high level fell walking. The group will be kept small and the emphasis will be on enjoyable mountain walking with a relaxed atmosphere. If you wish to ask any questions about the type of walking involved or would like to discuss with me your suitability for the weekend, please do not hesitate to phone or email me. Itinerary: The following itinerary is intended to give you a general idea of what the Snowdonia Walking Weekend will include. However, this may be subject to change at short notice if, for example, I judge the weather conditions are unsuitable to carry out the intended route a lower level walk will take place. The emphasis of the holiday will be on providing an enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone in the group. The weekend starts when we meet in the evening at the Youth Hostel on Friday 27th April 2007. This will give you the opportunity to meet me and get to know the other group members. I will be available to answer any questions you may have and tell you more about our intended plans for the weekend. Saturday 28th April 2007 - Tryfan and the Glyders

Tryfan is one of the most easily recognised mountains in Wales rising steeply from Llyn Ogwen. The summits of Glyder Fach (3262ft) and Glyder Fawr (3279ft) are strewn with rock pinnacles and give excellent views across to Snowdon.
We ascend the Heather Terrace on the east face of Tryfan then follow the path to the summit. From there we descend the way we came to the Bristly Ridge and onward to Glyder Fach and Glyder Fawr. We return to the valley via The Devils Kitchen and Llyn Idwal.
This route to the highest mountain in both England and Wales takes advantage of the car park at Pen-y-pass at 1200ft. The ascent is by the Pyg Track which gives superb views of Llyn Llydaw and Glaslyn nestling below the cliffs of Llwedd and Snowdon. Our return route will depend upon the abilities of the group and the conditions on the day.
