Lake District Guided Walk - Helvellyn and Fairfield from Ambleside

This linear walk utilises the bus from Ambleside to Swirls. The cost of the bus fare is not included in the price of the guided walk.
A demanding high level guided walk with two steep ascents, Helvellyn and Fairfield with moderately easy walking between on good paths.
We begin by walking up the eastern flanks of Helvellyn, never excessively steep but demanding, to arrive at the third highest summit in the Lake District. Easy walking then follows to Nethermost Pike and Dollywaggon Pike with impressive views of glacially eroded corries to the east, and to the west the central fells. A descent on a good path takes us to Grizedale Tarn from where we follow a zigzag path that ascends to the summit of Fairfield. The final descent from Fairfield to Ambleside is gradual with good views all of the way.
