The route passes under Langdale Pikes and ascends Rossett Ghyll to
Angle Tarn then Esk Hause. Form there a short walks takes us to Esk Pike, 2903ft.
The summit gives excellent views of most of the Lake District fells, especially
the Scafell range rising from upper Eskdale. The walk continues across Hanging
Knotts to Bowfell, 2960ft. The descent to Langdale follows the path to Oxendale,
under Crinkle Crags.
