The 'Classic Guided Walks' and all walks 'grade W3' and
above are walks in the hills and high fells that can last all day and as such require a good level of fitness and adequate clothing. Waterproof and windproof jackets and over trousers, hat, gloves, and good fell walking boots with a good sole are essential. Also bring a spare fleece or warm sweater. A change of clothing to wear after the walk is advisable.
Bring enough food and drink to last all day.
Please notify me if you have any medical condition that may impact on your safety or the safety of others in the party, or that may necessitate special arrangements for the walk. If these circumstances arise after you have booked, please contact me as soon as you can. It is suggested that if you have any doubts about any medical condition you may have, or if you are unsure about your fitness to undertake any of the walks, or that a medical condition may be made worse by undertaking any walk, that you consult a medical professional before booking.
If at the start of a walk the leader believes that any walker will be unable to complete the programmed route because of their fitness or inadequate equipment, the leader reserves the right not to allow this person to take part in the walk.
If while on a walk, you become concerned about any aspect of safety in relation to yourself or others, please speak to the leader straight away.
The leader of the walk holds a valid Mountain Leader Certificate and a current First Aid Certificate. A first aid kit and a group survival shelter are also carried. All of the walks have been risk assessed.
The leader of the walk reserves the right to change the route if for any reason the leader believes that a person or persons are unable to complete the planned walk or if weather conditions make it unsafe to continue the walk.
If you have any enquiries regarding the walks, please contact me.

Some of the photographs I take on my guided walks may be published on my

Change of route
Because Lake District weather conditions can be unpredictable, the walk
programme may be altered. If the weather conditions are unsuitable for
the high fells, then a walk of similar time and distance will take
place.
Remember that the valleys of the Lake District have been inhabited for over 4000 years and are packed with natural history - your journey to the area should still provide an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
